What the Spark Plug?

Spark Plug

The spark plug is the part that is used to burn the gasoline on the engine in vehicles with a gasoline engine. Although this part has small dimensions, it is very important for the operation of the engine.

In gasoline vehicles, the number of spark plugs is the same as the number of cylinders the engine has. In other words, if your vehicle has a 3-cylinder engine, it will also have 3 spark plugs. The working principle of the spark plug is as follows, it provides spark formation by bypassing the voltage coming from the electric coil between the electrodes on it. With this spark, the air-gas mixture in the combustion chamber burns and creates a small explosion. With this explosion, the piston standing up is forced to move down.

Although spark plugs are a small part in appearance, they consist of 13 parts and 4 parts. These 4 parts are the porcelain insulating part, the electrical connection point, the connection threads and body, and the electrodes.

Spark plugs need to be changed after a certain time due to their duties, and certain points must be paid attention to for this change. These points are the nail spacing and diameter of the spark plug on your vehicle. We need to pay attention to these when buying another spark plug. Since it is one of the important parts of the engine, it shows problems that are evident in case of failure. These are:

·         Hard work while the vehicle is running,

·         Excess fuel consumption,

appears as. If these problems are present in your car, they may be related to the spark plug, you should contact a technical service immediately.
